I love humor, so it is no surprise I like to write humor. When I teach humor workshops, I always tell people who want to write humor to watch and read things that make you laugh. Spiritual Life with J.P. definitely made me laugh.
One of the things I enjoy about Spiritual Life is the dry, matter-of-fact presentation of information. I think I also get this humor because I can relate to the topics. I have seen these trends and been part of it myself. Below are J.P.’s seven funniest videos.

How to Become Gluten Intolerant
I am not gluten intolerant, but I am allergic to wheat. My boyfriend was afraid to show me this video because he thought it would offend me. Apparently he thinks i do all these things. I thought it was the funniest video.

If Meat Eaters Acted Like Vegetarians
I tried to be a vegetarian when I was 16. It didn’t work out very well considering how many allergies I had. I was already so limited in my diet I was deficient in nutrients which wasn’t healthy. I also found this funny because I have dated vegetarians in the past and it was impossible to eat normally. The things that are said in this video are exactly what vegetarian evangelists say.

Vegetarianism: Fighting for the Cure
I love how this mimics a very serious video. My favorite part is the watermelon scene.

Ayahuasca
This video started off a little slow but it got better and better as the story advanced. It is definitely a visual video so you can’t just listen to it as you do other things.

I think I like this because I can relate to it. I love his take on what is being said and what is really being said.

The Most Spiritual Life on Earth
I think one of the things I especially appreciate about this is it reminds me of Eugene and Portland and makes fun of the hippie, New Age culture.
